The HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna, Austria was the venue for my latest Austrian National Snooker Training Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association with nine selected players invited to attend this two day PJ Nolan camp.
Manuel Pomwenger, Oskar Charlesworth, Andreas Ploner, Florian Nüßle, Jérôme Liedtke, Tajmeet Grover, Florian Toth, Mario Bodlos and Elias Kapitany attended this intense training camp to prepare the Austrian players for their National Championships next month.
This camp was one of the best ever with each player achieve fantastic results by improving on their scores from the last camp in October. During this camp I again worked on improving their Technique, Break Building skills and Safety Games with specific academy Technical, Mental, Scoring and Match-Play routines. I also focused on their Approach, Stance, Address Position, Bridge, Grip and Cue Actions and I really feel the players are developing their game with every camp.
All the players practiced from 10am – 6pm and it was a pleasure training them again as their commitment was superb.
All the players received a CD from the coaching camp along with a copy of the training and Mind Fitness booklet to work on during each training session at home.
The Camp Winners
I held different types of competitions during the camp to monitor the player’s performances.
The Technical competition was won by Florian Nüßle with a stunning display and a new record of 74pts with Andreas Ploner in second with 72pts and Oskar Charlesworth in third place with 59pts.
In the Mental Competition it was again Florian Nüßle who was too strong by setting a new record of 108pts with Oskar Charlesworth in second with 96pts and Andreas Ploner in third with 94pts.
The Scoring competition was also won by Florian Nüßle with top quality scoring and a total of 589pts which included a 142 clearance on the Max Break. In second place it was Andreas Ploner with 505pts which included a 139 clearance on the Carter Break. In third place was Elias Kapitany with 385 which included a top break off 99 on the Bond Break.
I also held four different Match-Play competitions the winners were Florian Nüßle with two victories while Tajmeet Grover and Elias Kapitany had one victory each.
I would personally like again to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the National Team players and I am already booked in holding another six camps in 2019. I would like to thank Austrian President and Sport Director Christian Fock, National Coach Chau Zi Kim, Austrian Coach Clemens Kunkel and the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp
Finally I wish all the Austrian players a beautiful Christmas and the best of luck in their National Championships in January.
See you all in March 2019 and well done this week and keep on training hard and preparing your best for each event. Auf Wiedersehen
