It is necessary to complete all the various parts of your training plan on the table to the off the table with Mental and Physical Fitness that your snooker coach has recommended for you to practice. This is where a good experienced coach comes to advise you and develop a specific training plan to suit the student with the set practice drills to improve his or her game.
Remember be honest with the coach as you are never fooling him, you are only fooling yourself. Discuss with the coach if you have any issues with your plan or within your game.

- Learn
Learn through observation, practice, and learn from other players that you play against. Many things can be learnt from watching especially the shot selection and position play in making breaks and playing safe.
- Evaluate
Evaluation is the key to self-improvement. Analyse your scores in your practice plan and in your matches in how you played and learn from your mistakes.
- People
There are three roles of people in snooker. All are necessary at the professional level. If one person fails, then it will affect the others.
- The Snooker Player
- The Snooker Coach
- The Snooker Manager
- Practice
Practice properly, experiment with different ideas either in solo practice or during your match-play. Always approach each session in a professional manner with a goal. “Practice like you play and play like you practice”
- Relaxation
Be relaxed on and off the table. Improvement and success comes from knowing you have done your practice so just relax as you have to learn to be patience. If do not, you will just put pressure on yourself and you will never improve or win.
- Time Management
Use your time effectively. Too many players waste their time, then wonder why they are not improving and start making excuses for their poor performance.
- Fitness
Remember the physically fitter you are, the better you will feel. Doing an fitness exercise you enjoy is the best way to keep fit. Always remember you are training your body so it can be strong when you need it, during long matches and tournaments.
- Mental
Do not be afraid of learning about the mental side of the game as it will help you along the journey in becoming the best player you can become.
- Enjoyment
Enjoy your practice, sometimes it is difficult to be motivated especially with hours of solo and match practice.
