My 147academy returned to the beautiful city of Vienna in Austria to hold a 2day Austrian Snooker National Team Training Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of October.
The Players
Nine selected players were invited to the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy when Florian Nüßle, Garry Balter, Mario Bodlos, Oskar Charlesworth, Thomas Janzso, Elias Kapitany , Jérôme Liedtke, Hans Nirnberger and Paul Schopf were invited to attended training from 10am-6pm each day.
Quality Camp
During the Austrian camps we focus on 12 specific drills in three main areas of Potting, Control and Scoring. Florian Nüßle was incredible form winning all three areas with 31balls from the maximum 40 in the Long Potting. Florian also won the Control Drills with 36 balls from a maximum of 40. In the beak building drills it was again Florian winning it in style with superb consistent scoring.
Training Camp
This camp was focused on preparing the Austrian players from the upcoming IBSF World Snooker Championships in Turkey next month. We concentrated on their Match-Play, Technique, Cue Ball Control, Long Potting and on the Mental Side of the game. The players performed excellent in the camp on the specific academy routines.
Coaching
All the players received coaching videos along with a copy of the new Mental Training booklet and a new Practice Program to work on during training sessions at home.
Match-Play Events
On Day 1 of the Camp we held a series of mini match-play tactical events. First was Florian Nüßle with 5 wins from 7 matches. On Day 2 of the Match-play scoring event, victory again went to Florian Nüßle with 8 wins from his 9 matches just beating Mario Bodlos on points scored.
Seminars Mental and physical
National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave Mental Training seminars to the players on helping to become mentally stronger throughout the camp plus qualified fitness coach Daniel Seyser held two fitness sessions for the players on both mornings.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
