Last weekend I returned to Vienna in Austria to hold a Snooker Development Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of June
The Players
A mixture of top Austrian ranked players to new U-16 juniors plus a lady champion were invited to the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna when Oskar Charlesworth, Lukas Stötzer, Josef Elias Wimmer, Thomas Janzso, Philipp Koch, Jasper Arbeiter, Stephanie Doležal, Maximilian Dombrowski, Timo Gampersberger, Tengo Hanser, Nikolaus Haslmayr, Patrick Ruß, Patrick Stift attended training both days from 10am to 6pm.
The training facilities in the HSEBC academy were again top class and I was very happy to see many of the top players plus new junior players who were very motivated to improve at this camp. The players overall training performances was excellent and I am confident, we are developing all the players to improve at each camp.
High Quality Camp
This camp we concentrated on the new drills in for the advanced players with Mini Breaks, Open Breaks, Long Potting, Match-play, and 6 Red frames where players played a best of 3 match on each drill. The young juniors focused on potting and controlling the cue ball plus the coaches kept fine tuning their playing techniques.
Coaching Program
All the players received a copy of a new training booklet. All the players had their technique profiled and each player got feedback on what fundamentals they need to work on. The players also bring home a copy of their videos to improve during their sessions at home.
Seminars Mental and physical
National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave a number of Mental Training seminar to the players on becoming mentally stronger plus qualified fitness coach Daniel Seyser held a fitness session each morning for the players on how to warm up properly.
Training Aids
I had all the latest training aids to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, QLine, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
Thank You
I would personally like to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the National Team and I am already looking forward to holding more camps later in the year.
I would like to thank Austrian President Christian Fock plus National Coach Chau Zi Kim and EBSA Coach Florian Hinterschuster and Daniel Seyser along with the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp.
Good Luck
Finally, I would like to wish all the Austrian players a happy summer as it was a pleasure training everyone again.
Keep on training hard and believe in yourself.
See you all in September.
