Last week I was invited to Belgrade in Serbia by Marko Stoilković from the Mister S Snooker Club to hold a Snooker Workshop for his members. Marko was the perfect host and is also a qualified EBSA Coach and one of the leading players within Serbia.
This was my third visit to this beautiful city of Belgrade, and this time I had plenty of time to see the city properly and also to run around the Kalemegdan Park which was fantastic.
Big Honour
It was a big honour to help a mixture of top ranked players as young as 13yrs old but the amount of talent on show was incredible and I was very impressed. The training facilities in the Mister S club were top class with super-fine cloth and pro lighting. I was very happy to see many top player plus top junior players so motivated to improve.
The players overall training performances were excellent and I am confident that Marco is developing the players to improve more to put Serbia on the map in the near future.
High Quality Camp
This workshop we concentrated on the new drills in for the advanced players with Mini Breaks, Open Breaks, Pack Breaks, Long Potting, Match-play. The other players focused on potting and controlling the cue ball plus fine tuning their playing techniques.
Coaching Program
All the players received a copy of a new training booklet. All the players had their technique profiled and each player got feedback on what fundamentals they need to work on. The players also bring home a copy of their videos to improve.
Training Aids
I had all the latest training aids to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, QLine, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
Thank You
I would personally like to thank Marko Stoilković for inviting me to Belgrade and I am already looking forward to returning next year. The Club presented me with a Coat and Hoddie with the Mister S logo on it to remember my visit to Belgrade.
Pod-Cast
During my few days in Belgrade Marko also invited me to his podcast for an interview about my coaching and about my visit to Serbia. Click to Listen
Good Luck
I would like to thank Marko, Maja, and all the players and parents for a fantastic time in Belgrade. I am enjoying the Rakija which is a Serbian whiskey which they all insisted on me trying!!!
Finally, I wish all the players a happy summer as it was a pleasure training everyone and I look forward to seeing you all at the next European Championships.
Keep on training hard and believe in yourself guys.
