My 147academy returned to Vienna in Austria to hold my last training camp for 2022. On Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of December I held a 2 day camp with the Austrian National Snooker Team that was organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association.
The Players
The 10 Players were invited to the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy for this camp were Florian Nüßle, Becker Emil, Mario Bodlos, Oskar Charlesworth, Josef Elias Wimmer, Lukas Stötzer, Paul Schopf, Christoph Kesler, Elias Kapitany, and Nikolaus Haslmayr attended training.
The facilities in the academy were world class with the HSEBC having all the tables recovered last week with super fine Strachan match cloth.
Excellent Camp
During this camp, we focused on drills contained in the new official program for 2023 with specific drills in Mini Breaks, Open Breaks, Long Potting, 6 Red Pack, 10 Red Packs and Frame routines. The players had to choose a level and play a best of 5 match on each drill.
The feedback was excellent on the new system and type of routines within the program. I feel this new program will help improve the players training in 2023 and motivate them in each camp.
Training Camp
On Day 1 of the Camp we held a mini match-play and scoring events with Elias Kapitany winning both in beating Lukas Stötzer in the scoring event and Mario Bodlos in the tactical event.
On Day 2 of the Camp, we held a long potting and scoring event. It was Florian Nüßle who won the Long Potting and Scoring Challenge. Paul Schopf won the other Scoring Challenge and Oskar Charlesworth won the tactical challenge.
Star of the camp
Florian Nüßle again was the star performer in the camp with a stunning display of break building and cue ball control. Florian achieved two 147 breaks during this camp and missed the final black on another magical 147.
This camp focused on preparing the Austrian players for the upcoming National Championship in January. There was a great mixture of new juniors and experienced players at this camp and all the players performed excellent.
Coaching
All the players received a copy of the new Mental Training booklet plus the new Practice Program to work on during training sessions at home.
Seminars Mental and physical
National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave a Mental Training seminar to the players on helping to become mentally stronger plus qualified fitness coach Daniel Seyser held a fitness session for the players.
EBSA Coaches
The three current Austrian EBSA qualified Coaches attended this weekend with Chau Zi Kim, Bernhard Muellner and Clemens Kunkel which is great for the future in Austrian Snooker having three top coaches in Aiustria.
Full Austrian Coaching Team
The Austrian Association are building a team of coaches who have undergone the National Coaching certification in becoming instructors / teachers / coaches and it is great to see how much passion the coaches have in developing the players and game all across Austria.
Thank You
I would personally like again to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the National Team players and I am already looking forward to holding six more camps next season.
I would like to thank Austrian President Christian Fock plus National Coach Chau Zi Kim along with all the coaches plus the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp.
Training Aids
I had all the latest training aids to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
Good Luck
Finally, I would like to wish all the players good luck in the National Snooker Championships in January. It was a pleasure to training everyone again, keep on training hard and believe in yourself. See you all in February.
Auf Wiedersehen
