Last weekend I travelled to Charleroi in Belgium to hold a snooker training camp in the Charleroi Snooker Club. The Snooker camp was organised by Raphael Profeta and featured players from France and all across Belgium. It was a great honour to see players travelling long distances to receive my coaching including leading Belgian player Alain Vandersteen who reached the EBSA European Master Final last month and leading junior whiz kid Nicolas Mortreux from France plus other club members who availed of the Coaching during the weekend camp.
The main objective of this camp was to get the players into the correct address position by developing a smoother cue action to strike the cue ball with confidence. My alignment laser helped to correct their line of aim and it helped the players understand how to cue smoother and their potting success improved. One player who really impressed me this weekend was Tomas Mortreux who is the younger brother of Nicolas and at aged 9 is a real star of the future for French snooker.
Leading local players Vincenzo Marchica, Raphael Profeta who I have coached previously showed me how much they have improved since the last camp with superb potting and safety displays during their sessions which included a 125 Clearance on the Y Break by Vincenzo. Every player who attended the camp received a Dvd of their sessions to study at home. They had their playing technique analysed and practiced some of my training routines. The players worked on their Break-building and Safety game and also received some sports audio to work on their mind fitness.
This new training program will now become part of their daily practice as I feel their cue ball control and concentration needs to be improved. I was delighted to see all the players working so hard. I would like to personally thank Raphael for arranging everything and I really enjoyed training the players. I would like to thank The Charleroi Snooker Club for making it a great success and I am looking forward to another camp early next year in Belgium.
