Last weekend the 18th – 20th of October my 147 Academy travelled to Charleroi in Belgium to hold a snooker training cue zone. The cue zone was organised by Mathieu Protin and it was held in the Charleroi Snooker Club and in Isnes with players from France and Belgium. It was hailed a great success by all the players. It was a great honour to see so many talented European players travelling long distances to receive my coaching which included Alain Vandersteen from Belgium who reached the final of the World IBSF Masters Championship in Carlow earlier this month.
He was joined by 16 year old Niel Vincent from France who is fast becoming a top player with a stunning performance during his session. Also in attendance were two of the youngest and best junior players in the world with 11 year old star Sybren Solkowski from Belgium and 11 year old Nicolas Mortreux from France. They both showed me again how much they have improved since the last camp and why they are regarded so highly with superb potting and safety displays during their sessions. Local players Sebastien Taets, Raphael Profeta, Vincenzo Marchica, Jean Baptise, Mathieu Protin, and Lady player Jennifer Lemielle also received training during the weekend and it was great to see so much improvement since my last cue zone in April.
I would like to personally thank Mathieu for arranging the camp. I really enjoyed training the players and Mathieu did everything to make my visit a memorable and enjoyable stay. Every player who attended the cue zone had their playing technique analysed and they practiced my training routines. The players worked on their Break-building and Safety game. I was delighted to see all the players working hard on mastering each shot. The players received a Dvd’s of their sessions to study at home and a big thank you again to all the players and to Charleroi Snooker Club for inviting me and I look forward to my next cue zone in May next year.
