This week I had the honour of coaching and training one of the most exciting young Junior snooker players, fourteen year-old Christian Richter from Germany in the SBI HQ Academy of Excellence in Carlow in the Republic of Ireland from the 21st-23rd of February.
Christian travelled with his father to Ireland for a 3-day training camp with my 147academy to prepare for the EBSA European U-16 & U-18 Championship which will be held in Malta next month.
High Class Performance
I was very impressed with Christian performance throughout the camp. We worked hard on his break building skills focusing on cue ball control and scoring with key shot selection on my specific drills.
Christian has already won the German National Under 15 title and competed in the recent WSF Snooker Championships in Australia earlier this month. During this camp, I worked on fine tuning his break building skills and good fundamentals in his technique in his Approach and Delivery.
Christian said “ It was fantastic to have a training camp with PJ here in Ireland. The SBI Academy is perfect and I have never trained so hard in my life. The new training plan is very exciting to improve my shot selection during my break building ‘’.
Academy Records
Christian achieved many of 147Academy U-16 records on my training drills including T Break 63, X Break 65, Hendry Break 84, Team Break 73, Xmas Break 86. He also cleared the UK Break, Greece Break and Malta Break. CLICK RECORDS

Training Aids
He played with great confidence and we used the latest training aids in this camp to enhance each session like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim G-5 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Training Camp Structure
Christian was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos of the action from the sessions to study and analyse more. We also worked on creating a new training plan with key routines for Control and Scoring.
PJ said ‘’ After this training camp I really believe Christian has the talent and dedication to reach the top of the game and this camp only confirmed my opinion on his future development in the coming years ‘’.

Christian now returns to Germany along with the specific training program that will hopefully help him improve even more. My 147academy wish him all the success this coming season and it is a big honour to have another top junior in my 147academy.
