My 147academy travelled to Italy this week to hold a coaching camp in the Davide Coltro Ambrosian Snooker Academy in the amazing city of Milan. During the camp I worked on developing a solid playing technique in the players Stance, Cue Action, Grip, and Address Position. All the players attended training from 10am – 6pm each day.
I designed the players a new training program and I hope it will now become part of their daily practice as I feel their cue ball control and potting needs to be improved. Each player received a DVD of their coaching along with their training program plus a coaching profile highlighting the main areas needed to improve.
The 26 players were ALESSANDRO PANZERI, MARCO PALMA, CLAUDIO COSTA, MATTEO STOPPINI, GIUSEPPE COLONNA, SHAHIN SHADILOO, ALEX RONCAROLO, IVANO DE FRANCESCHI, MARCO GIALINA, DAVIDE DE BONA, CLAUDIO IUCULANO, DAVIDE MERONI, FABIAN RICCARDI, PIERLUIGI ROMANO, TOMMASO PALERMO, DAVIDE PORTINARI, MATTIA GROSSI, COSTANTINO LAGOUSSIS, ENRICO BASSINI, GIANLUIGI LUONI, GIANLUCA SIRAGUSA, LORENZO BERTULLI, LUCA BERTOLI, VITTORIO ANGELILLO, CRISTIANO NOCI and COSTEL OLTEANU.
The players also played various formats of match-play snooker. This was to help the players identify and understand the shot selection of attack and defend as this is crucial if they want to improve more.
Davide who is the head EBSA coach in Italy is the main driving force of growing the game in Italy along with The Italian Federation Sport Billiard (F.I.B.I.S.) who are the National Governing Body. During this camp it was announced that a partnership with Davide Coltro Academy and my 147academy to design and launch two new training aids which will be called ‘’ The Master Doctor ‘’.
The Line Doctor will help the players come in on the line of aim and the Cue Action Doctor will help to develop a straight cue action. You will be available to buy both aids via www.147academy.com very soon. The Ambrosian Snooker Academy will also become my main training base in Milan and this is something I am very excited about.
