Last weekend I returned to Austria to hold my last Camp of 2024 on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of December in the ÖSBV Academy in Vienna. This training camp was organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association.
The weekend will always be remembered as the weekend Austrian Florian Nüßle became the first Austrian to reach a World Snooker Q-Final. Florian reached the Q-Finals losing to Mark Selby in the 2024 Shootout live on Eurosport TV. Florian incredible run put Austrian Snooker all over the media, which will be hopefully good to grow the interest in the game within Austria.
Venue
The training facilities in the ÖSBV Academy were again top class ahead of them hosting the Q Tour next weekend. I was very happy to see the players so motivated to improve at this camp. The players training performances were excellent and I am confident, we are developing the Austrian level at each camp.
The Players
A mixture of top Austrian ranked players plus three up and coming juniors were invited to the ÖSBV Academy when Mario Bodlos, Lukas Stötzer, Josef Elias Wimmer, Patrick Stift, Jerome Liedtke, Thomas Janszo, Paul Schopf, Florian Toth, Milan Dobrosavljevic, Maximilian Dombrowski, Timo Gampersberger attended training.
