Last week my 147academy returned to Africa and the city of Cairo in Egypt to hold another National Team Snooker Training Camp organised by the Egyptian Federation of Billiards Sport.
This time we held a Men’s Camp with 14 players and a Junior Camp with 17 players. It is a big honour to work with this Egyptian Federation on improving their players as they are so many talented young up and coming players plus former or current African / Arab Champions and former Egyptian professional players who have competed on the World Snooker Tour.
The Players
The thirty-one selected players were invited to the Sharkia Eastern Company Social Club where they attended training from 10am-7pm each day. I worked on improving their Technique, Break Building skills and Safety Games with Specific Academy Technical, Control, Scoring and Match-Play routines.
I also focused on the Mental Side of the game and I really feel the players will develop their game more with every camp with this structure. We trained again on my official training program endorsed by the Federation to help the players improve with set routines and drills.
Coaching
All the players received the videos from the coaching camps along with a copy of my new psychology booklet to work on during each training session. The players achieved fantastic scores and I am already looking forward to the next camp later in 2020.
Record Scores
On the routines I focused on this camp with the players achieving their highest possible scores by allowing them to continue after a clearance and the players set a number of fantastic scores with Mohamed Salama making a 224 on the T Break and 173 on the UK Break. Mohamed Ibrahim had a 264 on the Hendry Break. Hatem Yassin had 164 on the Carter Break. Fadi Hamouda potted 12 from the 15 Straight Blues. Mahmoued Hareedy had a 150 on the Max Break. Wael Talat made 99 on the 5 Reds /Pink Break and Abdel Rahman Shaheen had a 166 on the UK Break.
Junior players Mina Malak had a 226 on the Shovel Break. Islam Trabily had a 149 on the T Break. Ahmed Kishk had 143 on the Shovel Break.
