This September my 147 Academy returned to the pearl of the Vosges in North East of France to hold another Snooker Camp in the Gérardmer Billiard Club. This camp is now in it’s fifth year which was organised by their President Jean-Michel Martin.
During the year Jean-Michel Martin has been busy coaching, using my 147academy system. He is guiding some good young players who have some great potential and I was very impressed with the players overall improvement.
- Camp Goal
I again focused on their Approach, Stance, Address Position, Grip and Cue Actions. The players really impressed me with their cueing and aiming this year. A new club training plan was designed to help the players focus on their training.
I used the Academy Master Doctor and Laser to help the player get in line. I used the Blade Cue and my Coaching Balls to help the players achieve a smoother delivery without unwanted side.
- International Players to Club Players
The sixteen French players who attended this camp in Gérardmer were of a variety of ages and levels from an exciting Junior Nicolas Mortreux who reached the QFinal in the 2019 European Under 18 in Israel, Two French International players Michaël Martin and Maximilien Koch who represented France in the 2019 European Team Championship in Serbia to adult club members to very young Boys and Girls.
Each player received a technical profile with the main points to improve, Academy Sports Psychology booklet plus the movies from their session to study at home as I feel this is crucial in developing the fundamentals into their game.
- Thank You
Finally, a big thank you again goes to Jean-Michel Martin the President of the Gérardmer Snooker Club. It was a great honour to return to one of my favourite clubs to coach very committed players and I would like to thank all his members for making my visit a memorable again and I am already looking forward to my sixth camp in 2020.
