This week from the 27th-29th September my 147 Academy travelled to the city of Tel Aviv in Israel to hold another snooker training camp for Israeli No.1 and Champion Shachar Ruberg.
Last week Shachar had won the ISPA State cup final coming back from 2-0 down to win 5-2 which included breaks of 55,43,104,63,68 and I really believe the new break building program is bringing his game to a new level.
High Quality Camp
Shachar made numerous high quality breaks during the camp and it was a pleasure training him again as his commitment was superb throughout the camp. Shachar has already tasted success when he won the EBSA European 6red championship and reached the semi-final stages of the European men’s championship.

Each camp this Israeli impresses me and after 2022 camp I feel he is a great place ahead of the Open event in Austria and IBSF World Championships in Turkey in November.
Young Star of Future
During this camp I also had a chance to coach Shachar’s Student 16-year-old Yaron Bodor who performed excellent to qualify for the knock out stages in the recent IBSF U-16, U-18 and U-21 Championships in Romania. Yaron is becoming a real star of the future under the guidance of Shachar who is also a EBSA Qualified Coach.
During the lesson we worked on his shot approach to come in more on line and achieve a better alignment position. It was a pleasure to coach him and the future looks good for Israel Snooker.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used during these camps to enhance each session like the Mini Domin Eye, Blade Cue, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their deliveries.
Club Coaching
On the Wednesday night I also had the opportunity to assist Shachar with a club coaching night in Lincoln Raanana branch which I really enjoyed teaching good fundamentals to men and women players who signed up for Shachar’s class.
There was a great sense of passion to learn which is great for any coach and it was a pleasure to be involved in the night. Keep on listening to the coaches and you will improve more and more.
Shachar Camp
During this camp Shachar practiced various routines to improve Long Potting, Cue Ball Control, Break Building. He received all the movies to study his playing techniques and action from the camp plus a new training program.

The plan for this camp was all about checking his techniques, give him a new routine to master and set new goals and targets for 2023. The new routine will help him focus his solo training and improve his scoring more.
