Last week I travelled to Budapest in Hungary to hold a three-day training camp for my 147academy student 12-year-old Nico le Clercq. This 3-day camp was held in his home where he has his own Star Table.
The young Hungarian was preparing for the upcoming EBSA U16, U-18 and U-21 Championships which will be held in Malta next month. I was so impressed with his work rate and passion to learn all the various shots, drills and technical information.
Star of the future
In Hungary Nico is coached by EBSA coach Peter Varga. Nico has improved in all areas of his game since his camp in Ireland in March 2022 and it was an honour to work with him again. I really believe Nico will develop into one of the top European Juniors in the coming years.

Nico said “I really feel my game improved in the three days and my new break building program will improve my game even more now and I am excited to practice PJ’s drills’’.
Academy Records
Nico has already achieved many of my Academy records in my training drills and following this camp I believe he will achieve more records in 2023.

New Training Plan
Nico now begins a new training program over the next year which will be monitored with results and feedback from practice and his tournaments. It is fantastic to have another top European Junior in my 147academy and I will do everything possible to help develop his game over the next few years.

Training Camp Structure
Nico was videoed during each session and he has all the videos from the sessions to study more. We also worked on the mental side with my academy booklets on becoming mentally stronger.
Despite only being 12years old, Nico impressed me with his attitude and commitment when working on fine tuning his techniques, break building skills. I worked on fine tuning his approach, aiming and delivery on the cue ball plus developing consistent scoring and improving his rest play shots.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Thank You
My 147academy would like to thank Nico and his parents for inviting me over and I look forward to seeing him play in the 2023 EBSA Championships in Malta and wish him good luck for the future. Well done Nico!!!!
