This week I held a four day RIBSA Coaching Camp to prepare the RIBSA players for the 2014 European Billiards & Snooker Association Team and Under 21 Snooker Championships. Josh Boileau, Daniel Dempsey, Rodney Goggins, Stephen Bateman, Mark Tuite, Stephen Walsh, Tom O Driscoll, Tony Seymour and Alen Matic attend training in the Ivy Rooms in Carlow.
The players practiced on the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th of February from 11am – 4pm on my academy routines to improve their Break Building, Cue Ball Control, Long Potting and Match Play. All players were videoed and received DVD’s to study at home. I also worked on the psychology of the game and each player received a DVD of his action. Each player received specific sports psychology audio to help with their mind fitness to prepare for the Championships which is being held in Romania from the 18th to the 29th of March. RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy came in to watch the training and to wish the players good luck and said that he was delighted to see RIBSA holding this 4 day camp as this professionalism will help our players in Romania next month.
As National Coach I was delighted with the four day Camp and thanked all the players for attending. I believes that training on the same match Shender tables will help our players in Romania. I would also like to thank the Ivy Rooms for hosting the Camp and I want to wish all the players good luck in Romania.
