Last week I travelled to Tel Aviv in Israel to hold another snooker training camp for 17 year old Shachar Ruberg who is fast becoming one of the top junior snooker players in Europe. Shachar joined the PJ Nolan Academy in 2009 and each year the young Israeli school boy has had a dramatic improvement in his overall snooker game. In the last two World U-21 IBSF Championships Shachar has beaten a number of top juniors including Li Hang from China in Letterkenny and this year he beat Irish Champion Jason Devaney in Canada. Last week Shachar reached the final of the 2011 Basel Open in Switzerland losing 4 frames to 2 to leading professional player Ian McCulloch from England.
This week during the camp he made two fantastic breaks when he knocked in two 147 breaks in a row on ‘ The Shovel Break ’ and ‘ The Tel Aviv Break ’ and you can now watch both breaks by clicking on the routine.
If anyone thinks this is easy I would like to challenge all of my academy members to attempt to equal this incredible achievement and it shows everyone that with quality training and hard work anything is possible. During this camp Shachar made numerous clearances in my practice routines and he has improved his cue ball control and shot selection since the last camp.
Shachar is now fully focused on his training plan for the new season.
