My 147academy travelled to Salzburg in Austria to hold a two day snooker training camp on behalf of the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association. I would like to firstly congratulate the Austrian Snooker team on beating Germany and Switzerland last week to win the three Countries Championship in the Billardzentrum in Nürnberg!
This camp was held from 10am – 6pm on both days in the Billiard Leistungszentrum in Salzburg featuring Andreas Ploner, Florian Nüssle, Manuel Pomwenger, Markus Pfistermüller, Thomas Janzso, Philip Koch, Paul Schopf and Oskar Charlesworth. The camp was focused on developing a new training program for the National team for 2016 – 2017 to help them improve their training and improve the mental side of the game.
Day 1 Florian Nüssle won the Break building challenge while Markus Pfistermüller, Andreas Ploner and Paul Schopf won the Tactical challenges. Day 2 saw young Florian Nüssle win the Break Building Challenge again which included three century breaks in a row on the Ireland Acadeny Break. Each camp this young Austrian is improving and this weekend performances were his best to date.
During the break building challenges the players made three attempts on each routine and their average scores were recorded and then added together to find the players and teams average score. The next three camps will now be monitored with the player’s performance to judge the overall improvement. Each player received a DVD of action from the camp plus a breakdown of the routines and scores each player received during the camp.
I would like to thank the Austrian Association for hiring me for another season to train the National team and we had some fantastic performances this weekend and I look forward to holding more camps to monitor the players. The ABSA Sport Director and President Christian Fock plus local coach Chau Zi Kim were on hand to assist me throughout the weekend and I would like to say a big thank you to them on doing a great job this weekend.
Finally I would like to thank all the players and wish them good luck in the Grand Prix next weekend and I look forward to meeting you and training you again in October
Auf Wiedersehen
