Last week I travelled to the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds, England to train and guide Shachar Ruberg from Israel for this year’s EBSA Mens Snooker Championship in Poland in February and WSA Qschool in May. I was very impressed with the Northern Snooker Centre facilities and the amount of club Professionals like Peter Lines, David Grace, Oliver Lines and Sanderson Lam plus leading English amateur players like Jake Nicholson and Lewis Gillen.
During the camp Shachar played matches against all of them to get valuable match play practice which I believe is key for the Israeli to improve and reach the next level. I would really like personally to thank all the players for the matches and advice during the camp.
I worked on improving Shachar Stance, Address Position and developing a smooth delivery in his Cue Actions. We also practiced routines to improve Cue Ball Control, Break Building and Long Potting.
Training Plan
Shachar practiced from 10am – 6pm each day and the standard of tables and opponents were top class. I videoed each match and Shachar got the DVDs of each match to study more. We identified certain shots and tactics needed to be practiced which goes well for his overall development.

I was very impressed with Shachar’s attitude and he learnt a lot from this camp. I would like to thank the Northern Snooker Centre and all their staff and players for making this camp a big success. Shachar will return later in the year to get more match practice.
