On Friday the 2nd of April, Snooker & Billiards Ireland were delighted to host a successful zoom Q&A with the 2005 World Snooker Champion Shaun Murphy.
SBI offered 50 members a chance to ask the magician questions via Zoom to find out what makes this great snooker player tick, his thoughts on the game and any question about snooker that you want to put to him.
Everyone was delighted with the night and we were joined by a great mixture of Irish juniors, Intermediate, Senior players who attended from both Snooker & Billiards which was good to see. The Q&A was hosted by our Chairman Dylan Rees and Secretary Derek Kiely.
Shaun talked about what it is like to live in Ireland, what he did as a junior, how Billiards helped him, what it takes to become successful in this game. He congratulated SBI on promoting the game in Ireland and talked about Aaron Hill and Ross Bulman as the future.
SBI would like to thank Shaun for doing this with our members and SBI would also sincerely like to thank Robbie Murphy who organised this event and to D’Arcy McGees Spawell Snooker Club for allowing the zoom call to take place in the Club.

Snooker & Billiards Ireland like to wish Shaun and all the Irish players the best of luck in this year’s World Snooker Championships in Sheffield.
SBI hope to hold more Q&A’s with more professional snooker players in the near future to help our members in becoming the best players they can be with advice from the best players in the game.
