This week my 147academy had the pleasure of coaching USA player Varun Raheja who lives in Houston in the USA for a five-day Snooker Training Camp in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow.
Varun plays in USA National events and played very well in the 2022 USA National Championships events earlier this year. This week he travelled to Ireland, get professional coaching to fine tune his Technique and improve his overall Snooker game.
Working on his Overall Game
I worked with Varun on developing a professional pre shot routine for alignment on the line of aim and a smoother stroke in his cue action and delivery. We also practiced key academy routines to work on his shot selection with break building and cue ball control.
It was fantastic to have another International player in my 147academy and it was a pleasure coaching him to develop his game more. I designed a new training plan to help Varun to practice within a structure, which I believe will help him become more consistent.
Training Sessions
Varun was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos with the action plus a technique profile and training program to study covering all the routines.
We worked on his on his technique, cue ball control and break building skills plus he played an Irish International player Shane Gorman in sparring matches to work on his attacking and tactical sides of his game to get a winning balance.
Varun “said it was a very hard five days but I am delighted to come over to PJ to receive Professional Coaching. His coaching skills are excellent and the new SBI HQ in Ireland is amazing.”
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy Laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Good Luck
My 147academy would like to thank Varun for coming over to Ireland and I wish him well for the future. I hope Varun becomes more confident about his technique to achieve his goals in the future.
