My latest Austrian National Training Camp was held in the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna, Austria. This camp was again organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association and ten players were invited to attend this two day camp.
The Players
Oskar Charlesworth, Christian Hochmayer, Philipp Koch, Richard Kornberger, Florian Nüßle, Serbest Hussein, Jérôme Liedtke, Andreas Ploner plus two new junior players Tajmeet Grover and Florian Toth attended this intense training camp to prepare Austrian players for QSchool in England, European Masters and Team Championships in Romania and the World U-21 & U-18 Championships in China.
The Camp Winners
Four different types of competitions were held during the camp to monitor the players. The Technical competition was won by Florian Nüßle with a stunning display of cueing with Oskar Charlesworth in second place and Serbest Hussein in third place.
In the Mental Competition it was again Florian Nüßle who was too strong and won it with Andreas Ploner in second place and Philipp Koch in third place.
The Scoring competition was won by Andreas Ploner with quality consistent scoring which included a 117 clearance on the Bow-Tie Break, in second place it was Florian Nüßle who had a high break of 137 on the Hunter Break and in third place it was Oskar Charlesworth.
In the Match-Play competition, eight different versions of match-play events were held and after all the ranking points were added up it was Andreas Ploner who won it after great displays with Serbest Hussein in second place and Florian Nüßle in third place.
Training Plan
During this camp I worked with the players on improving their Technique, Break Building skills and Safety Games with specific academy Technical, Mental, Scoring and Match-Play routines. I really feel the players are developing their game with every camp. All the players practiced from 10am – 6pm and it was a pleasure training them again as their commitment was superb.
Coaching
All the players received a DVD of action from the coaching camp along with a copy of the training booklet to work on during each training session at home. The results from home sessions and the camps are recorded with statistics on each player to identify how the players are improving each month. We can focus on what need to be worked on more.
Thank You
I would personally like again to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the players and I am already looking forward to holding the next camp in September.
Finally I would like to thank Austrian President and Sport Director Christian Fock and National Coach Chau Zi Kim for their assistance during the camp and I wish all the Austrian players the best of luck in their upcoming events.
Come on Team Austria!!!!
