My 147academy travelled to Vienna in Austria to hold a National Team Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association. Eleven players from all across Austria were invited to attend this two-day PJ Nolan camp in the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna.
The Players
Philipp Koch, Andreas Ploner, Mike Busse, Oskar Charlesworth, Florian Nüßle, Jérôme Liedtke, Arif Hussaini, Thomas Janzso, Florian Toth, Mario Bodlos and Elias Kapitany attended this training camp from 10am – 6pm each day. It was a pleasure training the players again as their commitment was superb.
Mental Game Seminar
EBSA and National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave two seminars to the players on Success in Sport and Goal Setting. The players were delighted with the content and structure as this Mental Training will become a regular part of each camp in the future in trying to get the players stronger mentally .
Camp Plan
This camp I again focused on their Approach, Stance, Address Position, Bridge, Grip and Cue Actions and I really feel the players are developing with every camp. During this camp I again worked on improving their Technique, Break Building skills and Safety Games with specific academy Technical, Mental, Scoring and Match-Play routines.
Coaching
I used all my academy training aids including my Blade Cue, 360 Cue, Chris Henry Balls, Master Doctor Kit, EBSA Coaching Balls and Lasers. All the players received a CD from the coaching videos along with two 147academy Mental Fitness booklets to work on training sessions at home.
Technical
I held different types of competitions during the camp to monitor the player’s performances and the Technical competition was won by Florian Nüßle with a stunning display. Jérôme Liedtke and Mario Bodlos were tied in second place and Philipp Koch in third place.
Control
In the Control Competition it was again Florian Nüßle who won it with 47pts from maximum of 50 pts just pipping Andreas Ploner into second and Elias Kapitany was in third place.
Scoring
The Scoring competition was won by Andreas Ploner with quality scoring, Second was Florian Nüßle and third was Jérôme Liedtke.
Thank You
I would like to thank Austrian President and Sport Director Christian Fock and National Coach Chau Zi Kim and the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp.
Finally, I wish all the Austrian players good luck in their next Grand Prix and see you all in October where we will prepare for the upcoming IBSF World Championships in Turkey. Well done and keep on training hard and preparing your best for each event.
Auf Wiedersehen
