Last week my 147academy had the pleasure of coaching Lithuanian International Snooker player Andrej Maksimov for a two-day Snooker Training Camp in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow.
Andrej plays in National events in Lithuania and last week he travelled to Ireland, get professional coaching to fine tune his Technique and improve his overall Snooker game before the EBSA European Championships which will be held next month in Bulgaria.
Working on his Overall Game
I worked with Andrej on developing a smoother stroke in his cue action and delivery. We also practiced key academy routines to work on his shot selection with break building and cue ball control, long potting and safety drills.
It was fantastic to have another International player wanting to come over and it was a pleasure coaching him to develop his game even more. I designed a new training plan to help Andrej to practice within a structure, which I believe will help him become more consistent.
Training Sessions
Andrej was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos with the action plus a technique profile and training program to study covering all the routines.
We worked on his on his technique and break building skills plus matches to work on his attacking and tactical sides of his game to get a winning balance.
Andrej “said he was delighted to come over to PJ to receive Coaching again. PJ’s coaching skills are Brilliant and the SBI Academy of Excellence in Ireland is amazing.”
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy Laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Good Luck
My 147academy would like to thank Andrej for coming over to Ireland and I wish him good luck in the European Championships next month in Bulgaria.
