This week I had the pleasure of welcoming back 17 year old Dylan Emery from Wales for another Coaching session in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow. Dylan travelled to my 147academy base in Ireland for another session to prepare for the 2019 European U-18 & U-21 Snooker Championships that will be held in Israel in February.
I was again very impressed with his commitment and was delighted to see how hard he has worked on his game since our last session. During this session I worked on developing his shot selection during his break building and on his tactical game.
I used the Master Doctor to get him on the line of aim by focusing on his Approach, Stance, Address Position and I really feel he is developing this naturally into his game. I developed a new training program to help him focus in his preparation for Israel. His Long Potting and Scoring was Fantastic which included a superb a total clearance of 139 break on the Star Break.
PJ ‘’ said it fantastic for my 147 academy to have one of the World’s best junior players who is a former World U-16 Champion in my academy and it is an honour to coach and guide him over the next few years ’’.
Dylan was videoed during his session and he brings home CD’s with the action from the sessions to study covering the four main areas Technique, Mental, Tactical and Scoring.
I also worked on the mind game with set programs that allow him to plan and focus his mind during matches in major tournaments. One big change I made was how he will start mentally getting ready for matches by planning what he does and analyse the performance afterwards.
Dylan “said it was great to come over again to PJ and I feel more confident about my technique after his fine tuning. I really enjoyed the sessions and I really believe his training programs will help me prepare my best for my upcoming events in 2019.
Dylan begins his new academy training program which will be monitored with feedback in helping him peak at the European Championship. My 147academy would like to thank Dylan for coming over and wish him good luck in 2019.
