This week my 147academy again had the pleasure of coaching one of the most talented young players when the 2024 World IBSF U-17 Champion Christian Richter from Germany returned for another training camp in the SBI HQ Academy of Excellence in Carlow in the Republic of Ireland.
This talented German returned with his father for another training camp in my academy base to prepare for upcoming season where he will compete in the 2025 EBSA European Championships in Albania and 2026 WSF Championships plus QTour events around Europe.

Camp Structure
During this training camp, I worked on fine tuning his break building skills and developing good fundamentals in his technique Approach, Address Position and Delivery. Christian was videoed during each session and he brings home all the video action to study more.

I was very impressed again with Christian throughout the camp. He worked very hard on his break building, shot selection, safety, scoring and cue ball control since our last camp in Thailand.
IBSF Vice President and SBI President Jim Leacy watched the camp and was very impressed with Christian’s work rate and he wished him more success in the future.
I added into his daily program specific scoring drills to replica match-play situations with safety play and key scoring drills which will help him develop more in his tournament matches.

Christian said “It was great to return to Carlow to have another camp with PJ. The SBI Academy is perfect base for our camps, and I can really see how much I am becoming more consistent in my break building and safety. PJ really pushed me in every session ‘’.

Training Aids
We again used the latest training aids in the camp to enhance each session like the Q line, Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim G-5 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
PJ said ‘’ This camp showed me again how much talent and dedication Christian has to become a top player in the future. Christian has become very focused and it is a pleasure to work with him ‘’.

Thank You
Christian now returns to Germany along with the new training program and key fundamentals to work on that will hopefully help him improve even more.
My 147academy wish him all the success this coming season and it is a big honour to have this top International in my 147academy.

See you both in October and November and thank you again for coming over again.
Auf Wiedersehen
