This week my 147academy had the honour of having 16-year-old Filip Vidak from Belgrade in Serbia for a training camp in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow, Ireland.
It was a pleasure in holding this camp for another International student who is preparing for the upcoming WSF Snooker Championships in Morocco and EBSA Snooker Championships in Turkey.
Filip had travelled to Carlow in the Republic of Ireland to develop his game and I was very impressed with his work rate in learning all the drills and technical information.
Filip is coached by EBSA Snooker Coach Marko Stoilković and plays in the Mister S Snooker Club in Belgrade and it was big honour to coach and train Filip during this camp.

Star of the future
Filip travelled to my 147academy base in Carlow to improve his overall game. Filip made many high breaks during this camp and cleared many drills in the camp. It was brilliant to see him work so hard. I believe Filip has the potential to become one of the top European juniors in the next couple of years. His potting was incredible and his attitude was superb all the way through the camp.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in this camp to enhance each session like the Mini Domin Eye, QLine, Blade Cue, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Break Board
UK Break – Clear – Champions Break – Clear – Greece Break – Clear – Israel Break – Clear. Blade Break 80, Shovel Break 82, X Break 79, Torpedo Break 70, Thailand Break 71, Wexford Break 72.
Training Camp Structure
Filip was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos of the action from the sessions to study and analyse. A new training program with specific Scoring drills was designed to help him train better at home.

Training Camp
Filip “said it is fantastic to come to Ireland despite the snow and cold weather. PJ planned the perfect camp and my new training plan and new fundamentals is already making me feel confident about improving more and more in the next year. I have never worked so hard and never been so tired at the end of our camp “
During this camp, PJ worked on fine tuning his fundamentals in his technique by working on his Approach, Delivery, Grip and Rest Shots. We also talked about his scoring, shot selection and cue ball control plus on the mental side on becoming mentally stronger.
New Training Plan
Filip now begins a new training program which will be monitored with the feedback from his practice sessions in Serbia. It is really fantastic to have this European Junior in my 147academy and I will do everything possible to help develop his game over the next few years.
