Last week my 147academy had the honour of holding another International camp for talented 15-year-old Jenson Schmid from Switzerland in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow, Ireland.
Jenson returned to Ireland with his father Patrik to improve his overall game ahead of the 2025 U-16 & U-18, U-21 and Men’s European Snooker Championships which will be held in Turkey in March.
During this camp, we worked on fine tuning fundamentals in his technique. We worked on new academy drills to improve his shot selection and cue ball control. I arranged a few matches against Irish International players for match play plus we worked on the mental side of becoming mentally stronger.
At 15yrs old, he is a fantastic talent and he has worked so hard on improving in his break building skills since the last camp and it is a big honour to have this top European Junior in my academy.

The camp again confirmed his potential to become one of the top European juniors in the next few years. His potting was incredible and his work rate to learn all the drills and technical information was fantastic. It was another big honour for me to coach him during this camp.

Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in this camp to enhance each session like the Q-Line, Mini Domin Eye, Blade Cue, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim to develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Training Camp Structure
Jenson was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos of the action from the sessions to study and analyze. A new training program with specific Academy drills was designed to help him train better at home.
Patrik “said it is great to bring Jenson to Carlow for another camp with PJ. I am so happy to see Jenson work so well under PJ’s guidance. PJ planned out the camp again perfect with solo and match practice. He designed Jenson a new training plan to improve his game even more. I love how hard PJ works on improving Jenson’s overall game.
Jenson had matches against Irish No.1 U-16 player Aaron Donnelly, Scott Cooke, Alex Currid, Tommy O Donoghue and Rodney Goggins during his training camp last week for vital match play practice ahead of the European Championships in Turkey.

New Training Plan
Jenson will now begin a new program which will be monitored from all his practice sessions in Switzerland. It is really fantastic to have this talented European Junior in my 147academy and I will do everything possible to help develop his game over the next few years.
