In my role as the Irish National Snooker Coach, I had the pleasure of being invited to a meeting in Carlow College with the Minister for Sport, Jack Chambers TD on Monday the 20th of September.
Today’s visit to Carlow, coincided with the announcement of the Irish Government COVID-19 restrictions being lifted to allow Indoor sport to restart which is great news for our sport. The meeting was hosted by local Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor TD. The meeting was held outdoors with social distance protocols in place.
The Minister and the Senator were very impressed with our detailed plan in creating the first NGB Snooker & Billiards Academy of Excellence in Graiguecullen, Carlow Town, Co Laois.
On behalf of Snooker & Billiards Ireland, I would like to personally thank Minister Jack Chambers and Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor for their assistance on the day and their continued support to Snooker & Billiards in Ireland.
