This week I had the honour of holding another coaching camp for the new World Under 17 IBSF Snooker Champion, Christian Richter from Germany in the SBI HQ Academy of Excellence in Carlow town in the Republic of Ireland.
New World Champion
Christian had won the IBSF World Snooker U-17 title in style in India last week. He returned for another training camp to prepare for the new upcoming season which will feature many International events plus the QTour, European and World Junior Championships.
I was very impressed with Christian in India as he beat many of the best juniors in the world. The future looks good as he has the commitment to reach the next level in the coming years.
Christian has already had three camps in Ireland in 2024 and another camp is planned in November.
During this camp, I worked again on fine tuning his Break Building Skills, Long Potting, Mental Side, Tactical Game and developing good fundamentals in his technique.
Training Aids
I used the latest training aids in this camp to enhance each session like the Mini Domin Eye, QLine, Blade Mat, Master Doctor, Str8aim G-5 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
This exciting young star of the future was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos to study more. I was very impressed with Christian throughout this camp. He worked very hard on his break building and long potting skills.
Academy Record Break
During this camp, Christian made a new world record break on the Thailand Break when he made a 129c, 124c and 119 break to score 372 points. This showed his concentration and focus has improved and I really believe winning this world title is only the start of his success journey.
Christian said “It was great to have another training camp with PJ. I think this camp was the hardest so far and the new training plan is perfect to improve my game even more’’.
Thank You
My 147academy congratulates Christian on becoming the first ever German to win a world snooker title. I am so proud of how hard he is training and i wish him all the success this coming season. It is a big honour to having him in my 147academy.
See you in November!!
Auf Wiedersehen
