Last weekend my 147academy travelled to Austria to hold an Austrian National Snooker Training Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association. Ten selected players were invited to attend this two day PJ Nolan camp in the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna.
- The Players
Philipp Koch, Manuel Pomwenger, Oskar Charlesworth, Florian Nüßle, Jérôme Liedtke, Arif Hussaini, Tajmeet Grover, Florian Toth, Mario Bodlos and Elias Kapitany attended this training camp from 10am – 6pm each day. It was a pleasure training the players again as their commitment was superb.
- Training Plan
This camp was one of the best with again each player achieving fantastic results by improving on their scores from the last camp in December. I focused on their Approach, Stance, Address Position, Bridge, Grip and Cue Actions and I really feel the players are developing their game with every camp.
This camp I again worked on improving their Technique, Break Building skills and Safety Games with specific academy Technical, Mental, Scoring and Match-Play routines.
- Coaching
All the players received a CD from the coaching camp along with a copy of the training booklet to work on during each training session at home.
- WPBSA Wildcard
Austrian No.1 Florian Nüßle who was the star of the camp after superb results was full of confidence after Florian had received a wild card from the WPBSA to play in the 2019 World Professional Snooker Championships qualifiers in England next month and Florian will become the first Austrian to ever play in it.
- Technical
I held different types of competitions during the camp to monitor the player’s performances and the Technical competition was won by Florian Nüßle with a stunning display with a new record of 82pts with Philipp Koch in second with 65pts and Elias Kapitany in third place with 62pts.
- Mental
In the Mental Competition it was again Florian Nüßle who was too strong winning it with 107pts with Philipp Koch in second with 65pts and Jérôme Liedtke in third with 64pts.
- Scoring
The Scoring competition was also won by Florian Nüßle with top quality scoring and a total of 347pts which included a 122 clearance on the Max Break and 135 on the Allen Break. Philipp Koch was in second with 208pts and Elias Kapitany in third with 197pts
- Match-Play
I also held four different Match-Play competitions the winners were Florian Nüßle with two victories while Tajmeet Grover and Mario Bodlos had one victory each.
- Thank You
I would personally like again to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the National Team players and I am already booked in holding another five camps in 2019.
I would like to thank Austrian President and Sport Director Christian Fock and newly qualified EBSA Coach and National Coach Chau Zi Kim plus the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp
Finally I wish all the Austrian players the best of luck in their Grand Prix next week and Florian in the upcoming World Snooker Professional Championship in England.
See you all in April, well done this week and keep on training hard and preparing your best for each event.
Auf Wiedersehen
