Last weekend my 147academy travelled back to Vienna Austria to hold another Austrian National Snooker Training Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association.
- The Players
Thirteen selected players were invited to the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna with Carl Walter Steiner, Markus Bauer, Florian Toth, Oskar Charlesworth, Mario Bodlos, Philipp Koch, Mike Busse, Werner Rieschl, Elias Kapitany, Arif Hussaini,Tajmeet Grover, Martin Schmidt and Alex Trinkl training from 10am-6pm each day.
- Training Plan
This camp was one of the highest standards with all the player achieving fantastic results by improving on their scores from the last camp in April. I again focused on their Technique and on the Mental Side of the game and I really feel the players are developing their game with every camp.
This camp I again worked on improving their Technique, Break Building skills and Safety Games with Specific Academy Technical, Mental, Scoring and Match-Play routines.
- Coaching
All the players received the videos from the coaching camp along with a copy of the new training booklet and a new Mental Training booklet to work on during each training session at home. I used my Master Doctor to get the players in line, I used the blade cue to help on thier delivery and the new EBSA Coaching balls to improve on their delivery.
- Technical
I held different types of competitions during the camp to monitor the player’s performances and the star of the Camp was Elias Kapitany who had an incredible camp winning almost every event over the weekend.
In the Technical competition there were joint winners with Mario Bodlos and Elias Kapitany with a superb score of 25pts, Second was Markus Bauer with 24pts and third was Tajmeet Grover with 23pts.
- Mental
In the Mental Competition it was again Elias Kapitany winning with a score of 45pts, Second was Mario Bodlos with 43pts and Third was Tajmeet Grover with 40pts.
- Scoring
The Scoring competition was also won by Elias Kapitany winning with a score of 213, Second was Oskar Charlesworth with 206pts and Third was Mario Bodlos with 194pts.
- Match-Play
I held two different Match-Play competitions and the winner on day 1 was Elias Kapitany with 9 wins from his 11 matches. In second place was Philipp Koch with 8 wins and third was Mario Bodlos with 8 wins.
On day 2 Mike Busse won his first ever event at a camp winning 9 matches out of his 11 matches. In second was Elias Kapitany with 9 wins and third was Alex Trinkl with 8 wins.
- Thank You
I would personally like again to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the National Team players and I am already looking forward in holding another three more camps in 2019. I would like to thank Austrian President and Sport Director Christian Fock, National Coach and EBSA Coach Chau Zi Kim plus the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp.
- Good Luck
Finally, I would like to wish all the Austrian players Alex Trinkl and Ebrahim Baghi the best of luck in the European Masters Championships in Serbia next month and Oskar Charlesworth, Mario Bodlos in the IBSF U-21 Snooker Championships in China in July.
See you all in September and well done this week, it was a pleasure training you all as your commitment was superb. Keep on training hard and preparing your best for each event.
