Last weekend I returned to the ÖSBV Academy in Vienna, Austria on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of November to hold an Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association training camp.
Venue
The training facilities were top class after the recent QTour event in the ÖSBV Academy. I was again delighted to see all the players so motivated to improve at this camp. The players were very eager to learn and I am very confident, we are developing the Austrian level up at each camp.
The Players
Attendance at this camp was a mixture of top Austrian ranked Snooker & Billiard players who will be competing in the upcoming 4 Nations Billiards International event in N. Ireland.
Christian Pleschko, Patrick Russ, Martin Schmidt, Patrick Stegmeier, CW Steiner, Josef Wimmer, Richard Alge, Peyman Chitsaz, Gunter Kulle, Zoran Kostic, Patrick Stift, Dominic Neuwirth and Daniel Seyser attended training over the weekend.
High Quality Camp
This camp I concentrated on my specific academy Snooker drills focusing on Break-Building, Mini Breaks, Open Breaks, Cue Ball Control, Long Potting and Match-play.
National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave a Billiard camp which involved specific shots and situations that happen during billiard matches. A match play event was also held to give vital match practice.
Coaching Program
All the players received a copy of a technical booklet on developing good fundamentals plus a technique profile and drills they need to work on. The players also bring home a copy of their videos to watch at home.
Seminars Mental and physical
National Coach Chau Zi Kim also gave several Mental Training seminars on becoming mentally stronger and Daniel Seyser gave a seminar on how to physically warm up before matches.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, QLine, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
