Last weekend I held my latest training camp with the Austrian Snooker National Team players on the 9th & 10th of September in the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna.
This camp was organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association and the main goal of the camp was to focus on preparing the Austrian players for the upcoming IBSF Snooker Championships which will be played in Qatar.
The Players
There was a mixture of juniors and experienced players at this camp. All the players performed excellent and the 16 Players invited for this 2day camp were Emil Becker, Aref Hussaini, Clemens Kunkel, Michael Peyr, Maximilian Pfleger, Josef Elias Wimmer, Mario Bodlos, Oskar Charlesworth, Philipp Koch, Elias Kapitany, Jérôme Liedtke, Florian Nüßle, Paul Schopf, Lukas Stötzer, Thomas Janso and Tengo Hanser attended training from 10am to 6pm each day.
The training facilities in the academy were world class with the HSEBC having all the tables recovered with super fine Strachan match cloth.
High Quality Camp
This camp we again concentrated on the specific drills in Mini Breaks, Open Breaks, Long Potting and Frame routines. I was very happy with the players training performance on the program and I am confident it will help improve the players in each camp.
Training Results
On Day 1 of the Camp we held a mini match-play and scoring events with Elias Kapitany and Emil Becker winning both groups and it was Emil Becker who won the shoot-out black ball decider. On Day 2 of the Camp, we held a long potting and scoring event with Maximilian Pfleger winning.
Coaching Program
All the players received a copy of the new Mental Training booklet plus a copy of the Program to work on during training sessions at home.
Seminars Mental and physical
National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave Mental Training seminars to the players on helping to become mentally stronger plus qualified fitness coach Daniel Seyser held a fitness session for the players.
Training Aids
I had all the latest training aids to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
Thank You
I would personally like to thank the Austrian Association for inviting me to work with the National Team players. I would like to thank Austrian President Christian Fock plus National Coach Chau Zi Kim, EBSA Coach Bernard Müllner and Daniel Seyser along with the HSEBC Academy for their assistance during this camp.
Good Luck
Finally, I would like to wish all the players good luck in the IBSF Snooker Championships and it was a pleasure to training everyone again, keep on training hard and believe in yourself.
See you all in October.
