This weekend of the 21st and 22nd of May my 147academy returned to the beautiful city of Vienna in Austria to hold my latest Snooker Training Camp for the Austrian National Team. The Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association organised the camp and invited eight players from the National Rankings with Nüssle Florian, Markus Pfistermüller, Manuel Pomwenger, Dominik Scherübl, Kapitany Elias, Charlesworth Oskar, Janzso Thomas and Koch Philipp were all in attendance this training Zone.
This Camp was held in the HSEBC Cue Sports Academy and I focused on training the players on specific Building Routines and Mini Games to work on their weak areas. The players worked on shots to open the pack and they also received a sports psychology booklet to help them prepare their mind for the future.
Results from the Cue Zone
On the first day Markus Pfistermüller won the Match-Play event with a stunning display of snooker, Dominik Scherübl won the first of the Break Building Challenges with two century breaks and Kapitany Elias won the other event. On Day 2 Dominik Scherübl won the Match Play event to top off a great weekend for himself while Florian Nüssle won both Break Building Challenges on the day which included two centuries of his own to end the camp in style.
The Highest breaks of the camp were 117 (Scotland Break) & 122 (Thailand Break) by Dominik Scherübl and 119 (Arrow Break) & 124 (Thailand Break) by Florian Nüssle. I was very impressed again with the overall standard as the Austrian players always give a 100% and it is hoped that the new training plan will help the players reach the next level in 2016 – 2017.
Thank You
As usual I would like to thank ABSA Sport Director & Association President Christian Fock and Austrian coach Chau Zi Kim for assisting me and the players during the weekend and finally i would like to thank the players and I look forward to holding my next Camp in July.
