My 147academy had the pleasure this week of holding another Coaching camp for 14-year-old Jenson Schmid from Switzerland in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow, Ireland.
Jenson returned to Ireland with his father Patrik to improve his overall game ahead of the 2025 U-16 & U-18 EBSA and WSF European Snooker Championships. Jenson made an incredible improvement in his break building skills since the last camp.
During this camp, I worked on fine tuning his fundamentals in his technique by working on his Approach and Delivery. We also talked about his shot selection and cue ball control plus about the mental side on becoming mentally stronger.

This camp confirmed Jenson has the potential to become one of the top European juniors in the next few years. His potting was incredible and his work rate to learn all the drills and technical information was fantastic. It was another big honour to coach him during this camp.

Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in this camp to enhance each session like the Mini Domin Eye, Blade Cue, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
Training Camp Structure
Jenson was videoed during each session and he brings home all the videos of the action from the sessions to study and analyse. A new training program with specific Scoring drills was designed to help him train better at home.
Camp
Patrik “said it is brilliant to return for another camp with PJ. I am so happy to see Jenson and PJ work so well and hard on improving Jenson’s overall game. PJ planned out the camp again perfect and designed Jenson a new plan to improve shot selection during his break building.
