My 147academy returned to HSEBC Cue Sports Academy in Vienna in Austria to hold a National Snooker Camp organised by the Austrian Billiards & Snooker Association on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st of September.
The Players
A mixture of top Austrian players in Men, Junior, Masters, and English Billiards were invited to the camp this weekend which included Mario Bodlos, Oskar Charlesworth, Thomas Janzso, Jerome Liedtke, Florian Nüssle, Maximilian Pfleger, Lukas Stötzer, Garry Balter, Josef Wimmer, Richard Kornberger, Hans Nirnberger, Emil Becker, Daniel Seyser, Patrick Stift who attended training from 10am to 6pm.
The training facilities in the HSEBC academy were again top class with all the tables covered in new cloth ahead of hosting a QTour in December. The camp was to prepare the players for the 2024 European Masters and Team Championships in Portugal.
I was very happy to see many of the top players attending which included 7-time national Champion Florian Nüssle attending. The players overall training performances was excellent and I am confident, we are developing all the players to improve at each camp.
Quality Camp
This camp we concentrated on a mixture of drills and match-play games with Mini Breaks, Open Breaks, Long Potting, Match-play, and 6 & 15 Red frames.The Masters and English Billiard players focused on potting and controlling the cue ball plus the coaches kept fine tuning their playing techniques.
Star of the Camp
Star of the weekend was one of the world’s leading players Florian Nüssle who was in fantastic form over the weekend hitting breaks of 127, 130, 133, 137 and everyone could see his hunger, dedication and self-belief that will hopefully get him onto the professional tour soon.
Coaching Program
All the players received a copy of a training booklet and each player got feedback on what fundamentals they need to work on. The players also bring home a copy of their videos to improve during their sessions at home.
Seminars Mental and physical
National Coach Chau Zi Kim gave a number of Mental Training seminar to the players on becoming mentally stronger plus qualified fitness coach Daniel Seyser held a fitness session each morning for the players on how to warm up properly.
Training Aids
I had all the latest training aids to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, QLine, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser and the EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
