Mustafa Shehab from the United Arab Emirates UAE won his biggest titles to date when the Arab Champion won the Men’s singles snooker gold in Asian Indoor Games in China Macau.
Shehab took the medal after a close fight. It was a right royal battle from the start and both were seen at their best during the first two frames winning one each.
Watanna took the third frame to be ahead by 2-1. But the man from the Middle East playing with determination did well to win the fourth frame to level once again at 2-2.
It became a tough battle from there onwards with the two cueists trying to maintain supremacy and to go for a firm lead. All their attempts failed as two of them won a frame each fifth and sixth to be on level terms, with this, the final frame became more interesting and everyone was kept on their toes. First it was the Thai who took the lead and next it was the Arabian and it continued for a long time.
In the end it was Shehab who found the right opportunity to go past the Thai to win the first gold medal for his country of United Arab Emirates.
It was a big honour to be working with Mohammed as he is a model example for any player. He is very dedicated and he was fantastic in the event and winning this incredible Gold Medal in Macau will be something I will never forget.
